Uma Krishnaswami writes that a girl and her family are waiting for the monsoon. She also writes about the weather conditions before the rain and the girl’s perspective on the monsoon the hard summer season and the wind full of dust, sand, thunderstorms, and grainy, gritty dust. The girl expresses all the activity before the rain, which she is watching on her way.

7. Pattan’s Pumpkin: An Indian Flood Story (Chitra Soundar)

The story of a man Pattan, his wife, and his animals, who live on the bank of the river. Pattan makes the plant pumpkin and the pumpkin grows and grows until it looks like a mountain. Soon, Patten and his family make a bond with the pumpkin and the pumpkin saves their life.
